BLOCK EQUIVALENCY FILE

This District Block Equivalency file correlate to the GEOID20 field in the 2026 Block Shapefile. That Shapefile is based the 2020 Census Redistricting TIGER/Line Shapefiles for the State of Louisiana but has been modified and validated through the data verification program of the Louisiana Senate and the Louisiana House of Representatives to represent precinct changes submitted through January 27, 2026, to the Legislature of Louisiana by parish governing authorities pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 18:532 and 532.1. During this validation of changes to precincts by parish governing authorities, the original 2020 Census Blocks may be divided or merged to accommodate new geography in the corresponding parishes.

Therefore, this Block Equivalency file will not exactly match the 2020 Census blocks. To facilitate the public interest, these updated blocks and precincts are provided in the Shapefiles & Block Equivalency Files Based Upon 2020 Census Geography section of this website: https://redist.legis.la.gov/default_ShapeFiles2020
